The E-commerce business has grown in profound ways. E-Commerce has redefined business itself. Its evidence growth is bolstered by easy access to the internet, robust social media, and improved online service quality. E-commerce store business has thrived even amid the Covid-19 Pandemic. Amazon and Etsy stores are just a few great mentions. What’s even better is that the strategy these e-commerce tycoons use is replicable.

In this guide, I will tell you how you can set up your own E-commerce store. Even more helpful will be the tips on how you can outsource everything from there. So without further ado, let’s start our first e-store.

Step 1: Selecting the niche and product

The thing is, you can sell anything on the internet. In fact, according to a report, there were around 2 billion internet buyers in 2020.

What’s more beautiful is that these large numbers of potential customers have so much in common. They all have access to the internet. They buy the same basic things. They all have money to spend.

Don’t get me wrong. We are not planning on exploiting vulnerabilities. We are only stating the obvious.

It means we have the freedom to sell whatever we want. However, we won’t sell any random things. We need to choose carefully.

Two rules should be followed:

Number 1: Sell the item that actually sells.

Number 2: Sell the item where we have a competitive advantage.

What most sellers consider negatively is actually a positive inspiration. If you find people selling a product, that means such a product actually sells. And you can also sell such a product.

However, you should remember that there must be some competitive advantage in your favour. If you are selling shirts, see if they cost you less. Contact a factory owner who is in your town. Or one who can send the shirts to clients directly without the disproportionate cost of delivery.

Here is how you search for a niche and product.

Go to google trends.

Search your niche. For example, we are going into the clothing industry.

You should search for a couple of terms that interest you. Like, Shirt, Pants and Trousers. You will notice all are going well.

I selected the Shirt because its search volume is more than others.

Now search for the product. Say we stick to shirts.

See the related queries, both rising and top.

You will notice that T-Shirts can be a pretty good selling option.

Next, you should look for what T-Shirt designs are trending.

In the rising section, you will notice a number of T-Shirts being searched.

Select any and sell your product.

Step 2: Setting up the e-commerce store website:

There are two options for creating an e-store website. Either apply for Shopify directly, which makes everything easy. However, it usually costs more than it should. Shopify may cost you anywhere from 35 to 65 USD a month.

The second option is using WordPress.Org. However, you will need to purchase a domain – a domain is a virtual address like – a hosting service and an SSL certificate.

You can purchase your domain name directly from GoDaddy.

After purchasing a domain name, you will need a hosting service. There are a lot of good services out there, and you can choose any. However, Bluehost is one of the most reasonable and great hosting services out there. Moreover, Bluehost also provides a domain name along with a package.

With Bluehost, you can start as low as 3.95 USD a month.

Once you are done with that, all you have to do is to set up WordPress and WooCommerce. When purchasing the package, you just need to select the WordPress and WooCommerce options.

Step 3: Showcasing and promoting your E-Commerce Store

At this stage, you already have a product and a website.

Now you should start adding the product.

Whether you are using Shopify or WordPress, it is easy to add products to your website.

What you want to decide is how to showcase them.

Look at your competitors. Type the keyword on the google search and click the first five results. Once you open them, see how they are listing their products.

If they are showing details, you will need to add even more.

The formula is simple, do what your competitors do but in a better way. You should add some value to it.

After your listing, add some description that is relevant and helps your customers decide what to buy. The trick, however, is not to use the manufacturer’s description but to write your own. Write down the benefits and list them in a way that gives the impression that the product is useful.

Promoting the E-Commerce Store:

Promoting the E-commerce store is equally important as establishing the store itself. However, many new businessmen are intimidated by the idea.

They either think it is too expensive or it is too hard to do it yourself. However, the reality is that you cannot do without it.

The most obvious way of promotion is by way of paid advertisement.

Another way of promoting your business is by free means, where you do not have to pay upfront.

A veteran entrepreneur knows the importance of both and uses both methods.

However, there are a few things that every entrepreneur must do:

Search Engine Optimization is the key to promoting the websites the correct way.

SEO tricks and actions make your website more attractive in terms of the search engine.

With the right SEO arrangements, you can make your page appear on the first SERP – Search Engine Results Pages.

The beauty of SEO is that it is totally free. Improvising your on-Page SEO goes a long way in your business promotion.

Online Advertisement:

It is a great way of promoting your business. In fact, if you invest your money the correct way, you can find clients the same day that will pay off what you spent on the advertisement.

If you spend 100 USD on a Facebook advertisement. Your ad would appear to at least several thousand people.

There is a great chance that you will attract at least 10 customers if you have done everything correctly. Who will be willing to spend 100 USD on your product each. It means even a few of the customers pay off your investment in the advertisement.

Content Marketing:

Another great way is content marketing. It isn’t new, but many consider it a really great way to promote your content.

Recently it has been called one of the best means of promoting your website.

Naturally, if you follow all these methods, you are likely to have results. However, results don’t come in minutes. Sometimes, it may take days before you get a substantial profit.

So hold and wait for the results. Business requires time to take off and many newcomers that fail are victims of their own impatience.

Give your business three to twelve months to see the results, while in turn, you will end up learning it all.
