If you’re not a morning person, don’t worry, you can still get an amazing Morning Routine workout in before your day begins – you just need to get organized. It might seem like an impossible task at first, but if you stick to some basic health and nutrition tips, organize your time and sleep schedule, and actually stick to a realistic workout plan, you’ll be amazed at what you’re able to achieve before your colleagues even roll out of bed to get ready for work!

Today, we’ll be taking a look at the five elements of a winning morning routine that will prime your body and mind for an amazing workout. Here’s what you should do.

It all starts the night before

You can’t expect to wake up with the birdies feeling all cheerful and bursting with energy if you spent the night before staring at the phone until the wee hours of the night. In fact, if you don’t go to bet at the right time, you might just set yourself up for an entire week of feeling lethargic, fatigued, and downright antsy. Look, crankiness is a real thing, and it’s usually the result of a poor night’s sleep, so you need to start prepping for your morning workout the night before.

Make sure to get plenty of quality shut-eye by ensuring a strict eight-hour sleep cycle. But that’s not enough, you also need to get enough sleep on a continuous basis if you are to wake up energized and support total-body recovery. With that in mind, be sure to turn in every night at the same time, and turn off all of your smart gadgets an hour before bed.

Breakfast and water intake matter

Some people skip breakfast, and they do it for a number of reasons. First, it saves time, that’s obvious, but it’s also a good way to cut your calorie consumption if you’re on a fat-loss quest. This is also called intermittent fasting, and it works fine for some people, however, it might not work for you. If you want to get that much-needed surge of energy early in the morning, it might be wise to get up a bit earlier still to prep a carb-based, protein-rich breakfast.

Whether or not your choose to have breakfast, it’s still important to get plenty of fresh water in as soon as you get up, which is also one of the new Kim Kardashian weight loss secrets that allowed her to get amazing results last year. Be sure to drink two whole glasses as soon as you get up, but don’t forget to hydrate before and during your workout to stifle your hunger.

Get your supplements ready

When you’re trying to maintain a morning workout routine but you’re not exactly a morning person, it’s important that you get help wherever you can. Now, supplements might not be essential in your fitness journey, but they can still make a big difference if you’re struggling to stay consistent with your training.

Consider adding an L-glutamine supplement to your pre-workout or intra-workout drink, especially if you’re training in a fasted state in order to reduce muscle breakdown and to promote muscle recovery around your session. You can also mix up a tasty pre-workout supplement to get that surge of energy just as you’re about to start your workout.

Spend enough time warming up

Warming up is just as important as the workout itself, and just so you stay out of harm’s way and avoid injuring yourself. When you warm up properly, you’re able to prime your body and your mind for the workout ahead, which will directly affect the quality of the training session, and ultimately help you reach your fitness goals in 2020 and beyond. Be sure to spend at least ten minutes on active stretching and mobility, and then transition into some cardio-based movements to get your blood pumping and warm up your joints, tendons, and muscles.morning routine workout

Make it fast, make it effective

And finally, keep in mind that you don’t have to spend the entire morning working out. In fact, a big part of staying consistent with your fitness routine is making your workouts as short and as effective as possible. You want to be in and out of the gym quickly, so be sure to use some key workout tips from celebrity trainers, stick to movements that work your entire body, and cut your rest periods to get as much work done as possible before the day begins.

Wrapping up

You might not be a morning person, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t make a killer morning routine that will inspire you to crush your workouts and set yourself up for an amazing day. Stick to these tips, and you’ll have no problem reaching your fitness goals.

  1. Hi there, thanks for sharing these tips. I have never been a morning person. My morning grogginess has made me less effective on so many occasions so I keep trying to change that habit. What’s worked best for me is to prepare the night before and sleeping on time, no matter what.
