Why Was There A Need To Have Women Helpline Numbers?

Men and women are the blessings of the same almighty, but society does not treat them on an equal basis. A woman is considered weak, sensitive, emotional, and gullible, whereas men are regarded as practical, sensible, strong, and clear-sighted.

These characteristics are so deeply ingrained in the minds of people that even most of the women perceive themselves in the same way as others perceive them. Women are always kept in a protected shell by the family in order to keep them safe and protect them from the eyes of lustrous men.

Why do some men have a lust for women? Why are women taken as a shiny object? The answer to such questions is the mentality which depicts uncontrollable sexual desires present in some of the men. Even if a man marries a woman and takes her to his place with all the legalities, he still can treat her like a slave and exploit her mentally as well as physically.

Women are looked upon as something inferior in society, and there is nobody to support them. After viewing the scenario of unjust treatment of women in society, the government has organized various helpline numbers for women so that they can file complaints regarding the atrocities they are facing in their daily life.

Rise Of Self-Reliant And Audacious Women

Nowadays, women have become aware of the rights and privileges accorded to them under the constitution of India.

Different articles are dealing with the issues of women. Some of which are as follows:

Article 14 relates to equality for women in the eyes of the law.
Article 15 (i) relates to no discrimination based on sex, caste, creed, race, religion, ethnicity, etc.
Article 15 (3) deals with special provisions for women and children.
Article 16 relates to equality of opportunity in matters of employment
Article 39 (a) deals with equality for both men and women in terms of adequate means of livelihood
Article 39 (b) relates to equal pay for equal work for both men and women.
Article 42 deals with securing just and humane conditions of work and maternity relief for women

These are a few fundamental rights for promoting equality and justice among women. Our constitution has given equal rights to both men and women in every sphere of life -social, legal, economic, religious, and political. Nowadays, women have become self-reliant and have started raising their voice against the atrocities they have been facing since time immortal by demanding the privileges and benefits mentioned in the constitution. Women have realized that they are self-sufficient and do not require any sort of dependence on men.
